This last week we did so many fun Learning Activities with Experience Early Learning Curriculum . Our Theme this month is Global Passport  and today I am sharing some of the Activities we did.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to use  Experience Early Learning Curriculum with my students and to share our experiences on my blog.

I have used Experience Early Learning Curriculum in my Classroom since 2017..

Astronaut Fitness
I asked the children where they would travel if they were a astronaut. Some said to the moon, some said to earth 😊 and one child said Mars.
Then we discussed astronauts getting exercise and how important it is so that they can keep their bodies strong.

The children thought our next activity was hilarious and couldn’t quit laughing!

Exercising like an Astronaut. 👩‍🚀

They took turns tossing the exercise cube and it would land on jumping jacks, stand on your head and more.

Now they want to do it every day during circle time.

They loved 🥰 this activity!

Was so much fun!

Astronaut Puppet
For creative art the children made the cutest Astronaut Puppet.
They really liked looking through the clear cellophane part of the helmet and they looked so cute. The children said astronauts wear helmets so they can breathe.
They enjoyed coloring and putting their puppets together.
After making their puppets they played together with them pretending to go to different planets.

Astronaut Voting

The children took a vote with Astronaut Voting. They voted to fly to the moon in a hot air balloon instead of an rocket ship.

They voted to fly around Earth instead of the Sun.

They would rather build a Rocket Ship than a Hot Air Balloon.

See more Astronaut Voting Below!

Shiny Letter Zz
This week the children made shiny Letter Z with foil pieces.
The children wrote Uppercase and Lowercase Z
They made the Letter Z Sound
They said words that start with the letter z

It was a great week in Pre-K. The children loved learning about Astronauts!

They were very excited to collect  Moon Rocks for observation.

Making Constellation Designs

The children have enjoyed building their own constellations.
They arranged and matched stars on the design mat to create constellations in Science Center.

Creative Art Center
In Creative Art Center the children did some Amazing and Fun Creations this month. They made a Star Headband, Sun Color Art, Moon Rocks, Rock Planet Shakers, Astronaut Puppets, Rocket Ship Twirler and more.

Writing Center
This month , as with every month the curriculum includes so many writing opportunities. The children enjoyed tracing the  planet words , with the word cards in the writing center. They also enjoyed writing the wall word words on the post cards. I also place a few extra journals in the writing center for the children to write in. They also take their own journal home. The children love writing in writing center. We also focus on 3 different letters of the Alphabet each month.

Sensory and I Spy Comets in Space

In the sensory bins the children enjoyed finding planets and astronauts. The sorted the planets & astronauts and counted what they found. They love looking up with their “ I Spy Glasses “ to find the pictures on the poster.

What do you see in the Sky at night?
Can you count the stars?
Do you see a planet?

Block Center
The block center is Always a Favorite. Especially when the theme is Space. The children Loved building Space Stations.
In the Experience Early Learning Toy Box a Space Gear Building Set was included and it has been a major hit with my children! I may have to bring it out a few times during the year since they love it so much!❤️

This month the story included in the curriculum is ‘Up in  Space’. The children loved it. As I read it to the children I used the story pieces. After I was done I placed the story pieces and book in the library center so the children could use them to re-tell story to their friends.
The children also use the library center to pretend they are doing circle time.❤️

An Astronomer
Astronomers are people who study the moon, stars and planets. They use tools such as telescopes, cameras and computers to see what is in space.

The children are having a blast with the Space & Sky Unit from Experience Early Learning.

We have been focusing on the planets. The children made some Moon Rocks and they have been collecting them as well in the Dramatic Play Center for Observation.

Moon Rocks

After collecting moon rocks they each count how many they have found.

Telescopes

Creative Art
To observe the planets the children made Telescopes.

Each child designed their own telescope with crayons and star stickers. They enjoyed playing with their telescopes.

They looked around the room for stars and planets.

Creative Art
We have been focusing on the different planets of Earth, Mercury, Mars and Venus. Pluto - dwarf planet
We did a fun Creative Art project of flying a Rocket Ship In Space .

Another Fun Activity
We Created Rock Planet Shakers

Some planets are made of gas and some are made of rocks. Pluto is made of rocks. In fact , it is so small, it is considered a dwarf planet.

The children collected rocks for this activity.
