Fishing Time

I have to say our favorite week  of  Camping Theme from Mother Goose Time has been Fishing Week. First we did the many Awesome Mother Goose Time Activities  and then got to follow up with an actual Vacation/Fishing Trip.

Ariana caught her first fish and was so excited. It was a great week at the Beach.

With Mother Goose Time we did:
A Fish Puzzle
It Was So Much Fun!
Ariana loved this!
Skills- Cognitive, Fine motor and Problem solving skills.https://www.mothergoosetime.com/

What might you catch in a river and what do you need to fish ?  Ariana said - You would catch a real big fish in the river.
To fish you need a hook, a fishing pole, a shrimp and a reel that you roll up to catch a fish.

What kinds of fish have you seen?  Ariana said- I have seen a hard head fish, a really skinny fish and a piggy perch.

Time For a Fishing Game

Ariana really enjoyed this game alot. She rolled her pipe cleaner to make a hook so she could catch fish.

She played around with it to get it to hook and she matched the number fish to the number line.
Skills- Number Concepts and Fine Motor

 Word Fishing
Skills- Phonological Awareness and Social Relationships
What sounds do fish make? Ariana said- Fish make a glub, glub, glub sound.

What would you bring on a fishing trip? What would you leave at home?  Ariana said- You would bring a towel, a fishing pole, sand toys and a net to catch little creatures.
I would leave my bicycle at home because you can't ride it while you are fishing because it would sink and you would sink. That wouldn't be good.

It was a wonderful week of family, fun and fishing.
We loved all the fun fishing Activities from Mother Goose Time!
The whole Camping Theme has been so Awesome!

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep Outside

Where We Sleep explained by Ariana

Sometimes we sleep outside in a sleeping bag in our tent.

I want to sleep outside in my tent. I want to bring a cozy pink sleeping bag. When we went camping at the beach we heard the wind and waves splashing outside.

We also heard bugs making noises. I don't like bugs.
Something I really like to do when I go camping is to sing songs.

Here are some really fun songs with Mother Goose Time Camping Theme.

A tent should be a triangle to stand up. We should set up our tent in a place with no sticks and the ground should be flat. If you forget to tie it down it would fall on you. You have to make sure you follow all the instructions so it won't fall down.

When you go in your tent you can go to sleep in your sleeping bags and you can play with flashlights and make shadow puppets.

We also like looking at the pretty sky before we go to sleep.

We also like to do a campfire at night to keep us warm and it is really pretty and bright.

We love camping . It is so much fun. We are going back next week and we can't wait. We did some pillow case jumping. I can hop two jumps without falling.

Ariana really enjoyed decorating her Sleeping Bag Creation. She wanted to make it fancy.

Samuel, Ariana's older brother wanted to share his creation as well.

They both had so much fun with all the activities for Sleeping Bag and Tent from Mother Goose Time Camping Theme. https://www.mothergoosetime.com/

With every lesson Ariana also does literacy activities from Mother Goose Time that she enjoys so much. She enjoys writing in the journals and this month they have included Alphabet Cards for them to cut out.

She can't wait until our next camping lesson. She is having so much fun with this theme!

Teaching Young Children

Thursday, July 13, 2017 No comments

Teaching is a big part of who I am. If I wasn't teaching I would be lost.  I realized I needed to be in a classroom when my daughter started preschool. I just simply love it! Everyday is an adventure. When children come to school they should simply love it too and it should make them love what school is all about. It should set a positive and rich stage/foundation for future years of learning. I dedicate my time and energy to teaching young children because it is exciting, fun, challenging, and I love teaching young children.

At the present school in which I am directing and teaching we are in our ninth year. We started our first year with 4 little girls , myself and an assistant. We had enough money to pay the assistant and buy supplies and we had a great first year. I did lots of praying. I refused to be negative no matter how small our little school was. My love for teaching and children kept me going. The next few years was much the same with an enrollment under 20. Today we are blessed with a full staff and a full school . God has truly blessed our school. I am so thankful for his blessings.

When I work with children I know that my upbringing , my training/education and christianity are all a reflection of how I work with children.

I have been working with children for 32 years. I have been teaching for 24 years. I received my CDA Certification and Early Childhood Education.

With my CDA and Years of Experience I have learned what to look for when I look at my classroom and preschool.

It Should Establish and Maintain a Safe, Healthy Learning Environment.

It needs to Promote Physical, Cognitive, Communication and Creative Development

It needs to Support Social and Emotional Development and Provide Positive
Guidance

It Should Maintain Positive and Productive Relationships With Families

The Preschool Should Maintain it's Commitment to Professionalism

Mother Goose Time Curriculum supports all of these areas with the resources it provides. The teacher guide helps to guide and support the teacher. The newsletter keeps families involved and informed.
All the Teacher and Children materials support Cognitive, Communication and Creative Development. It is an Awesome
Curriculum. This month for July our Curriculum                                                 is Camping.
