Dinosaurs and Literacy

Story Time
The children absolutely love story time. Jurassic Jam is the Story for the Dinosaur Dig Theme. After hearing the story and seeing it with the story pieces the children are ready for it in Library Center. They love re-telling the story to their friends with the book and story pieces.

Volcano 🌋 Learning and Fun

The children love learning about Volcanoes. They want to know what is inside and about the hot lava and gases that comes out. They are interested in knowing what a Volcano looks like.
In the classroom I try to have as many books out as possible about Volcanoes with pictures for the children to view.

Save the Dinosaurs
This is a fun Dinosaur Letter/Word Recognition game . Matching pairs of Dinosaurs and Upper & Lower Letters. Hurry before the Volcano erupts!

V v is for Volcano
What better way to celebrate Letter V than to make a Volcano. This is an awesome hands on make and play. Scroll down to see how the children engage in play. Letter V - Volcano 🌋

Super cute!

Erupting V Sheet and My Post Card
The children use both of these activities in the Writing Center.
With the Erupting Vv sheet the children identify the pictures that begin with the v sound. They also practice writing upper and lowercase v.
With the postcard the children are emergent writing and drawing. They may want to keep it or give it to someone.

Another writing center favorite or large group activity is
My Little Journal ❤️
The children love these! They like finding their journal in the writing center. They draw pictures, they write words, they trace and more. They like coming together as a large group to write in their journals as well.

I Can Read!  Sight Word Readers - We love these every month!

Gaining a love for Literacy and Learning in the Early Years is so Important.
It creates a strong foundation for future years of learning.
Dinosaur Dig was another awesome theme, rich with amazing learning activities
and resources. Thank you MGT for another Amazing Theme.

Disclaimer: I am so thankful for the opportunity to use Experience Early Learning formerly Mother Goose Time Curriculum with my students. I can’t wait to share our learning experiences on my blog. In exchange for my unbiased and honest reviews, Experience Early Learning has provided us with the curriculum free of charge.
