This last week we did so many fun Learning Activities with Experience Early Learning Curriculum . Our Theme this month is All About Me  and today I am sharing some of the Activities we did.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to use  Experience Early Learning Curriculum with my students and to share our experiences on my blog.
In exchange for my unbiased and honest reviews Experience Early Learning has provided me with the curriculum free of charge.
I have used Experience Early Learning Curriculum in my Classroom since 2017. This Curriculum has been a True Blessing for me and my students! ❤️

This last week our Topic for Learning was:
Staying Healthy .

Our lessons centered around the importance of Washing Hands, Protecting Our Bodies , Sleep, Brushing Teeth and Exercise.

We discussed the importance of always washing our hands.

Why should we wash our hands?

Because germs 🦠 can spread easily !! We all need to wash our hands regularly throughout the day, all day long. Some of the times we wash our hands are after we come in from outside, before we eat, after restroom time, after we sneeze, etc.

Germs can spread from person to person just by touch.
We talk to the children regularly about how important it is for them to wash their hands to keep themselves and their friends healthy.

Brushing Teeth

The children used a toothbrush and the blue paint for this Creative Art Activity to pretend they were brushing the tooth shape.

They were singing a song about brushing their teeth that they made up !  “We are brushing our teeth!”  😊

It was so cute!!!

In Circle time the  children shared how they take care of their teeth each day and about any visits they might have had to the dentist.

Pulling Teeth 🦷

I have to say this was the number one favorite 🤩 😬 activity of the week!

They loved pulling teeth! I set the beads in Ticky-Tac  and it was super fun for them to pretend they were pulling teeth. 🦷 🦷

Protecting Our Bodies

Brain Model Creative Art

Together during Circle Time we discussed protecting our bodies. One way we discussed is protecting our heads . When riding a bike a helmet protects our head.
I explained to them that it is very important that we protect our brain.
For our Creative Art we made a Brain Model.
The children decorated the outside cup (skull)with a face and hair.

Then the children pressed the noodles together with a wet cloth to form a brain model on the inside of the cup.

Letter Aa

This last week we focused on the letter Aa uppercase & lowercase formation and letter sound. We did different activities focusing on the Letter Aa. Three weeks out of each month we will focus on a Letter of the Alphabet

The
Beatriz and the Monkeys Game 🐵🐒
Small Group Math

This game involved rolling the foam die and moving that many spaces. This was our very first board game together this school year.

With this being their first time  they needed a little assistance from me.

They loved this game! Board games are so much fun!!!!!! 🐵 ❤️
 Fun ! Fun! Fun!

My Postcard
Writing Center

Writing Center Fun
Drawing Pictures and Tracing Words from vocabulary word cards. Each week there are vocabulary word cards in the back of the Teacher Guide. I use these in my writing center to share words from the week and get my children interested in writing. They love coming to the writing center. I change it out often with different materials to make it interesting.

Lost & Found Letters
Small Group Literacy

Introduction of Lost & Found Letters

Last week we found Lost & Found Letters! The children were so excited to find the letters to build words!

hat ,  bad ,  had. ,  bat ,  rub

Each month we will do fun activities as we build new words.

We will start at the beginning of the month so the children can work with these all month long.

These are Awesome!

I have used Experience Early Learning Curriculum in my Classroom since 2017. This Curriculum has been a True Blessing for me and my students! ❤️

The 2nd week at preschool was truly Awesome! We had such a Wonderful Week! Only one of my students was still out of town and he will join us next week. We are having such a great time of Learning Together! It is so fun watching their new friendships grow!
This last week our Theme was The Five Senses.

Circle Time - Five Senses
During Circle Time we discussed our  five senses and I included  the My Five Senses Game pictured below.
We looked at the My Senses Spinner Card Together and I asked the children “What do you see?” They said I see a hand , an eye, a ear, a mouth and nose. I asked “What do you do with your eyes?”, “ What do you do with your ears?”Your nose? Your mouth? Hands?
Then I flipped the senses cards face down and chose one card at a time and asked the children which sense goes with the picture. Example: Nose - skunk & rose
I then placed this fun game in the Science Center for the children to continue to enjoy learning about the senses. Such a Wonderful Hands on Game for introducing and  learning about the five senses.

Learning About Smell
Creative Art
Flower Designs

The children made Beautiful Flower Creations because we learned about the sense of Smell! They stretched their soufflé cups and then painted them. They waited for them to dry and a green popsicle stick was added for a stem. They were so excited to take their flowers home to show their families. They were so proud of their creations.

We discussed Smells! We discussed how some smells are good and some smells are bad.

When we smell cookies 🍪 baking that is a good smell!
The children agreed that a skunk would be a bad smell!

Sharing a cute Flower Song: 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Five Fine Flowers ( In the tune of “Fere Jacques”)
Five fine flowers, five fine flowers,
Blowing in the breeze, blowing in the breeze.
Joey picked a red one, Joey picked a red one,
And made a sneeze!
AH-chooooo!

Learning About Sound

Circle Time
Sound Fun - Loud & Quiet
I explained to the children that sometimes we are loud and sometimes we are quiet. Each child received a bell so we could play a game called “Loud & Quiet “. They really enjoyed this game! Every time I held up the loud sign they rang their bells as loud as possible. Every time I held up the quiet sign they quit ringing their bells. They thought this was
Hilarious!  We then discussed times that we are quiet and times we can be very loud.

We would be quiet if we went to a library.
We would be very loud at a football game.

Creative Art
Bowl Instrument

The children created their own instruments. They decorated bowls with markers and stretched rubber bands
around them to make sounds. They enjoyed their instruments  so much and finally put them away for lunch! Lol! 🤣
They loved ❤️ decorating them!

Learning About Taste
Noodle Bracelet

Certain foods get soft when we cook them. First they are crunchy and after we cook them they change. This happens with noodles, carrots and potatoes.
For Creative Art the children made noodle bracelets out of uncooked noodles. We discussed different ways we like noodles cooked! Spaghetti and Macaroni & Cheese were two popular ones.
We love the way noodles taste!

Small Group Literacy - Introduction to Sight Words
It Smells Sight Word Reader
Name Writing Practice

Each Child received a I Can Read Book. We all went to the front cover. I told them this is the cover of your book and on the cover is the title. I pointed to each word and read the title. I asked the children to point to the words and read along as well.

We continued reading through the book and pointing to all the words.
On the last page the children were able to add their own drawing and word to finish the story.

Each month the children will receive a sight word reader which introduces them to sight words before entering kindergarten.
The children also traced their names on their nameplates. In Pre-K it is important that the children learn that only the first letter of their name should be written in uppercase and the other letters in lowercase.

Circle Time Fun
Balance a Button Activity
We Had Fun Learning about Balancing During Circle Time by Balancing Buttons
In the photos above and one below we are balancing buttons on our head, arm, knee and elbow.
While doing this it is fun to sing this movement song below:
Sung To the tune - The Muffin Man
Put a button on your elbow,
On your elbow, on your elbow.
Put a button on your elbow,
And balance if you can.
This was hilarious and it can be harder than you think! 😂

Creative Art
Family Puppet
The children enjoyed creating their puppets. They chose the color shirt they wanted for their puppet. They picked the color hair and how they wanted the style & the eyes. They turned out to be the Cutest Ever!!!! They talked about family and fun things they do together. 😊

They took their time and made their own unique creations.

Tangram Body

Each child had their own container of playdough and shared tangrams to make creations. The children built designs using the different shapes in the playdough.

They were interested in seeing what designs they could make. They enjoyed making the Shape imprints in the playdough.

Learning About The Body

Creative Art
X-Ray
How do the bones feel under your skin?
What is this picture called?
The children learned that bones are hard and skin & muscles are soft.  An X-ray is a special picture that shows our bones. They were excited to create their own x-ray picture.

The children used the materials to make their x-ray picture.

The X-ray pictures turned out so cute!

Time For a Game
Table Top Math
Body Parts Lotto
I set out the lotto cards face down. The children took turns flipping over a card to find matches for their lotto mat.
They enjoyed this game and learned how to give each player a turn. It was the first of many fun games we will play this school year.

This week we started our first journal. The children worked on tracing their hand and tracing their name on the front cover. They completed a few pages of their journal and will continue writing through the month until we send the journals home at the end of September. Each month they will receive a new journal with new writing activities.
