Large Sea Creatures

Week 2 of Ocean Commotion we learned about Large Sea Creatures.


We learned that Dolphins talk to each other with clicks and whistles. The children tried to make the sounds that the dolphins do.

They found this to be very funny! They laughed and had fun trying to make the sounds.

For Creative Art the children enjoyed making their Jumping Dolphins. They liked turning their dolphins to make them jump.


Octopuses

Circle Time Discussion 🐙 

How many arms do you have?        

How many arms does an octopus have?

An octopus has 2 eyes and 8 arms with suction cups.

The children were very interested in our Octopus Discussion . 

The Children made an Octopus Windsock. They cut on the lines to make arms. They added eyes and sucker stickers.

Counting Suckers

What a Wonderful Octopus Counting Game! The children really loved this game! So cute and fun!

Learning about Whales

We learned that whales are the largest animals on Earth. They come up for air and breathe through a blowhole. They also have bristly teeth.

Sharks

Moving like a Shark from side to side. Sharks like to eat seals, fish and dolphins.

Moving like a Shark is Fun!!!!

Shark Teeth 


The children had a lot of fun with this Counting Game. They flicked the spinner to identify the number of shark teeth.They counted the shark teeth and put them in the shark’s mouth. So Fun!!!!


Baby Sea Turtles 

What shapes do you see on a turtle’s shell?                   The children’s answers were circles, ovals, triangles, squares and even stars.

Sea turtles have a large shell on their back to protect them. They are great swimmers and can swim very far.

The children enjoyed the Shell Shapes Activity. They created a shell design for their Baby Sea Turtle.


It was a wonderful week in Pre-K learning about Large Sea Creatures with Mother Goose Time.
