Fun Learning About Space

Sunday, March 18, 2018

The children have been so excited to be learning about Space!  We have been learning so much this week and doing so many fun activities.

Learning About Stars

Stars are giant balls of gas.

They made Constellation Designs with the Star Design Mats and Star Counters and they could also create their own Constellations.

They also made Star Headbands using glue and glitter. The children enjoyed the glitter as always.

Learning About the Sun

The sun is a Star.

The children loved making their Sun Mask. They snipped around the plate to make sunrays creating lots of fine motor/cutting practice. I loved them so much I borrowed them for the door. They are so cute!

Learning About the Moon

Humans have landed on the Moon.

Would you move fast or slow on the Moon?

Let’s go on a Moon Adventure.

The children enjoyed creating their Moon Rock Bag and Moon Rocks and pretending they were on the Moon.

Learning About Astronomers

Astronomers are people who study the moon, stars and planets.

The children were very interested in learning what a Astronomer does. They enjoyed pretending that they were Astronomers with the Telescopes they made.

Learning About Comets

Comets have a tail and we can see them flying in the sky.

Today we made Comet Tails and later in the day we had a Comet Dance. Ms. Vonda and Ms. Sonya joined the children. 😊

Building Comets and Stars

The children had a blast with these! They loved the awesome clear colors.

Comets in Space

What things do you

see in Space?

 What is not in Space?

The children have so much fun with this activity.

What a Wonderful Week it has been Learning About Space!
