Promoting a Love for Writing

At my house we made a special place for emergent writing. Ariana has a special little area with a small caddy that has writing materials just for her to do her writing. At school I include stencils, a pencil, a marker , scrap paper  and here I have the Mother Goose Time Journal which will be in our writing center at school this year. I do not put too many materials out because this can be overwhelming. This helps to promote writing in a way the children love.

Promoting a Love for Reading

Ways in which to promote of love for reading is to sing songs, read stories, and tell stories that they can re-tell with story pieces or without story pieces.
Children also love Circle Time, Story Time and Music Time at School and these times promote Early Literacy.
Children love having a special place for storing their books.  This teaches them to take care of their books and that books are special.

Disclaimer: I am so thankful for the opportunity to use Experience Early Learning formerly Mother Goose Time Curriculum with my students. I can’t wait to share our learning experiences on my blog. In exchange for my unbiased and honest reviews, Experience Early Learning has provided us with the curriculum free of charge.
