Circle Time Teaches Many Things :

Early Literacy Skills
Math
Science
Social Skills
Fine and Gross Motor Skills
School Readiness
Listening Skills
and so much more

What We Do:
(It is amazing how fast the children learn the songs, recognize words, name the months, recognize each other's names and so on after the school year begins.)

We sing the Helper Song.
We read the student names and their jobs.

We sing the The Calendar Song.
We say the month, day and year. A child posts the date on the calendar and we clap and count the number of days on the calendar.

We sing the song today is, yesterday was and tomorrow will be.
We go over the order of the days and what the current day is.
(The Pre-K class is spelling and reading the words through the school year)
We sing the Days of the week. The children can name the days and they know how many days there are in a week.

We sing the months of the year. The children can name all the months.

We sing about the Seasons. The children can name all four seasons. They can name what happens during the different seasons. They can say what season it is now.

We sing the weather song.
We discuss the weather and the children can read the weather word cards. A child has a turn doing the Weather Wheel.

We also do the Letter, Number, Color, Rhyming Words and more.

We end with The Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer.

Circle Time lasts around 12 minutes and the children love every minute of it. I use visuals when I teach. Visuals are the key. Children love to have something to look at while they are singing and learning. It's just too much fun !!!!!!!!!!!! :) Learning while having fun!
