Kindergarten Readiness Skills :
- Can sit on the Circle Time Rug and participate during Circle Time
- Can walk in line with classmates
- Is able to follow learning centers rules
- Participates during music activities and finger plays
- Joins others in Pretend Play while in Dramatic Play Center
- Begins to develop pincer control in picking up objects
- Holds scissors correctly
- Holds a pencil or crayon properly
- Begins to coordinate arms and legs
- Runs, jumps and skips
- Walks up and down stairs
- Shows a steady increase in listening & speaking vocabulary
- Uses words instead of hands for hitting
- Joins in play with other children
- Can follow simple directions
- Expresses feelings and needs
- Goes to the bathroom by him or herself
- Listens with increasing attention
- Waits his or her turn and shares
- Talks in sentences
