Activities that include practicing these Skills are included in all Pre-K Daily
Lesson Plans at All God’s Children Mother’s Day Out.

The children’s days are busy. Their days include Math, Literacy, Gross
 Motor, Fine Motor, Social Development, Health & Safety, Science, Art,
Music, Dramatic Play and Social Studies

Kindergarten Readiness Skills :
  • Can sit on the Circle Time Rug and participate during Circle Time
  • Can walk in line with classmates
  • Is able to follow learning centers rules
  • Participates during music activities and finger plays 
  • Joins others in Pretend Play while in Dramatic Play Center 
  • Begins to develop pincer control in picking up objects 
  • Holds scissors correctly
  • Holds a pencil or crayon properly
  • Begins to coordinate arms and legs
  • Runs, jumps and skips
  • Walks up and down stairs
  • Shows a steady increase in listening & speaking vocabulary 
  • Uses words instead of hands for hitting 
  • Joins in play with other children 
  • Can follow simple directions 
  • Expresses feelings and needs 
  • Goes to the bathroom by him or herself 
  • Listens with increasing attention 
  • Waits his or her turn and shares 
  • Talks in sentences 
  • Asks questions about things around him or her 
  • Takes care of the books in the Library Center 
  • Enjoys having books read to him or her  
  • Can spend extended periods away from Mom and Dad 
  • Recognizes shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle)  
  • Can sort items by color, shape and size   
  • Can identify six parts of his or her body 
  • Understands concept words such as up, down, in, out, behind, under and over 
  • Counts from 1 to 30 or higher 
  • Can recognize five colors 
  • Writes his or her name 
  • Recognizes his or her written name
  • Can say his or her full name 
  • Knows how old he or she is 
  • Knows his or her mother and father's first names

  • Knows how to use One to One correspondence
  • Is writing Letters, Numbers, Wall Words, Names and more
  • Recognizes Environmental Print and Other Words
  • Child recites numbers from one to thirty or more.
  • Phonological Awareness – begins to notice rhyming words and the sounds in spoken words.
