Superhero Dress-Up

Sunday, August 2, 2020

This last week we did so many fun Learning Activities with Experience Early Learning Curriculum . Our Theme this month is Let’s Be Superheroes and today I am sharing some of the Activities we did.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to use  Experience Early Learning Curriculum with my students and to share our experiences on my blog.
In exchange for my unbiased and honest reviews Experience Early Learning has provided me with the curriculum free of charge.
I have used Experience Early Learning Curriculum in my Classroom since 2017. This Curriculum has been a True Blessing for me and my students! ❤️

Circle Time
The Superhero Wears a Mask

When we come to Circle Time in Pre-K I would ask
“When might a Superhero wear a mask?” We also may discuss regular face masks because some children might bring it up.  We can discuss how heroes wear face masks to keep people safe. This may put some children’s minds at ease that are a little unsure about seeing adults in masks.
Then we would sing a really fun song to the tune “The Wheels on the Bus.”
The superhero wears a mask,
wears a mask, wears a mask.
The superhero wears a mask,
On his face.
....cape...on his back.
....belt....around his waist.

A Super Game

Super Spy

I changed this to a super fun and challenging memory game for these two since they are older . They had their own stack of Letters and they had to try to find the Letter from memory  that matched from the main pile The first one to get rid of their Letters was the Winner. It went on for quite a while! Lol! 😂

For my Pre-K Class it would be a different version of the game that they would love and learn Letter Recognition. I would also use this mat in my Writing Center. I laminate everything so the children could practice writing their letters with markers and wipe it off. They always enjoy something exciting and new in the Writing Center.

Masks
The children decorated their masks with markers and they adjusted the elastic to fit their heads. They enjoyed creating their unique designs.

I think this would be a fun activity to do with the pre-k children at the beginning of this school year.  A fun way to emphasize that superheroes can wear different kinds of masks.  🦸‍♀️ 😷 ❤️ 😷 🦸‍♀️ 👩‍⚕️👩‍🏫

Super Writing

The August Journal is the last journal for the yearly themes. In that journal the number writing practice is 1-20. In September it will start over again with  1&2. The Pre-K children love the journals that we do every month. This month on the cover my grandchildren drew themself as a Superhero.
